What are some of the benefits of meditation?

There are many benefits to meditation. Here are a few of our favorites!

Meditation teaches us to Welzen the mind, develop concentration, and increase awareness. With greater awareness of our thought patterns and emotional habits, we learn how to relate to ourselves and our circumstances in a more objective, compassionate, and skillful way. This helps us engage in life more completely. It teaches us to understand and work with our emotions and break our habit of reactivity.

Another common outcome is a sharper mind. Meditation can help increase our ability to focus and concentrate. It can help us recondition our minds to break bad habits and avoid distractions.

In terms of physical benefits, with a regular practice we often see a decrease in grey-matter in the amygdala, which plays a big role in anxiety and stress. This lowers blood pressure and enhances immunity and healing.

Meditation can help people cope with ADD/ADHD, PTSD, chronic pain, and other conditions. It can also help alleviate sleep difficulties and insomnia.

What meditation techniques does Welzen use?

Welzen sessions are based on mindfulness meditation principles. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to our thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. Some of our sessions introduce specific practices that lie within the umbrella of mindfulness, such as Vipassana and Loving-Kindness – practices to develop awareness and equanimity.

All of our teachings are universal and non-religious.

How often should I meditate?

This is your practice, so it’s up to you. If possible, we recommend meditating daily. When we develop a regular meditation practice, we notice the most benefits. With consistency, mindfulness skills grow stronger and it becomes more intuitive to integrate mindfulness practices into daily life. That’s when the real transformation begins.

What breathing technique should I use?

If possible, breathe in and out through your nose. If that’s difficult because of health issues, you can breathe in and out through your mouth.

Is meditation for the whole family?

Absolutely. Children emulate their parents – that’s how they learn. So if they see their parents meditating, if they observe their parents communicating in a Welzen, non-reactive way, they will pick up those qualities.

When we teach children self-awareness, how to respond to challenging emotions, and how to self-soothe, we’re equipping them for success in life.

A child’s age influences how they should be introduced to meditation, because of their stage of mental and emotional development. In the Welzen Kids section in our app, we have a whole range of sessions designed for children as young as four and all the way into high school.

Is Welzen available in other languages?

Right now, Welzen is only available in English and Spanish

I just downloaded this app. Am I going to be charged?

The Welzen app is completely free, and you will not incur any charges from simply downloading it or creating a Welzen account.

Welzen is a mindfulness meditation app, built to help you relax and feel Welzen in a natural way that’s in tune with your body’s innate ability to switch from ‘ready for action’ to ‘resting’. If you’re new to meditation, our ‘5 Days of Welzen’ program is a great place to start!

If you wish to subscribe to our full library of guided meditation programs and coachings that are regularly updated, you can subscribe to Welzen Premium on a monthly, annual, or lifetime basis. More information on our pricing is available at Welzen.com/subscribe

What devices can I use Welzen on?

The Welzen app can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store or Google Play store, and is compatible on most iOS and Android mobile devices. If you have a smartphone or tablet that does not support one of these app stores, you can still access our full library of content through your mobile browser at Welzen.org.

Subscription Help

How do I update the name, email address, or password on my account?

at this time we don’t have an option to edit your profile on the app. If you need to change your information, please email us at support@welzen.org

Can I access my Welzen account on multiple devices?

Absolutely! Many of our users have Welzen downloaded on a phone and tablet, and use our website to meditate as well. Just make sure you’re signed into the same Welzen account on each device. You can check what email address you’re signed in within the app at the bottom of the Settings screen. You can view your account email on our website here as well.

Will I lose my profile or subscription information if I switch to a new phone?

Before switching to a new device, you’ll want to create a Welzen account to ensure no data is lost. Once you’ve created a Welzen account on your old phone, any session history or subscription information on that device will become synced to your Welzen account so you can access it from other devices.

If you have a subscription through iTunes and are switching to an Android device; or if you have a Google Play subscription and are switching to an iPhone, please email us at support@welzen.org for help managing your subscription after you’ve switched.

How do I purchase a subscription?

You can view our subscription options and make a purchase here. You can also purchase an in-app subscription purchase through iTunes or Google Play by tapping one of the locked meditations in the app.

Please note, we are not able to modify or directly refund subscription purchases made via iTunes.

How do I turn off auto-renewal or cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your Welzen subscription at any time, and you will continue to have access to the premium content until the subscription expires.

In the app, go to Settings and tap ‘Manage Subscription’ to find out what type of subscription you’re on. If you purchased your subscription through iTunes or Google Play, you can follow the link on that page to cancel the subscription yourself.

How are subscriptions billed?

Subscriptions are set to automatically renew at the end of each billing period, either monthly or annually. Our annual subscriptions are billed as one up-front payment for the full year at the time of subscribing (the amount showing as monthly is what it would break down to per month compared to being on our monthly plan).

If you purchase a lifetime subscription, you will be charged a single payment at the time of purchase. The full Welzen library will then become permanently unlocked on your account.

What does a Welzen subscription include?

A Welzen subscription gives you access to our full library of content on our website and in the Welzen app, as well as all new features and meditations that we release while your subscription is active. This includes “Your path to a happier life” sessions we release each day, and the coachings. You can purchase a monthly, annual, or lifetime subscription and view everything we currently offer here.

Where can I check my subscription status?

All subscriptions are set to automatically renew until they are canceled. Please note, deleting the app will not cancel your subscription.

In the app, go to Settings and tap ‘Manage Subscription’ to view details about your subscription status. If you purchased your subscription through iTunes or Google Play, you can follow the link on that page to view further information about how much you will be charged, and whether or not you’ve already turned auto-renewal off.

I purchased a subscription but everything is locked!

The first thing to do is make sure you are signed in to your Welzen account. If you are already logged in, log out and hard-quit the app, then reopen it and log back in. If you’re on an iOS device, you can also try the ‘Restore Purchase’ option in Settings. If you’re still locked out, send us an email at support@welzen.org with a copy of your receipt.
