Entrepreneurs keep a busy schedule; we try to fit as much work as possible during our business hours. There is always something else that can get done and that last email that needs to be sent before the end of the day.

So, how do we run our day in an efficient way without going crazy?

Here are some tips and tricks I’ve learned during my entrepreneurial life that has enabled me to run my days successfully. Not every day is perfect nor I stick to the routine, but if you try to commit to practicing these steps, you’ll get better at keeping them over time.
Here are Five things I’ve learned as an entrepreneur that help me run my day.

1. Everything starts the night before.

By getting a bedtime routine, I can start the next day with energy, intention and ready to go. Start by making sure that you go over your tasks list, calls, meeting and any other relevant info; this will give you a good idea of what to expect the next day. Then, make sure that everything you need for the next day is packed and ready to go, lunch, gym bag, backpack – everything is ready to go. And finally, go to sleep and turn everything off. Set the temperature of your room to whatever feels more comfortable for you, and it lights off. Don’t let anything come between you and your sleep.

2. Meditate

Meditation is an essential workout for your mind and doing it first thing in the morning helps you get your head ready for the day ahead. Take 5-10 minutes and meditate. This essential practice has been proven study after study to be beneficial in better managing your day and your life. 3. Get out of bed.

Try to get out of bed quickly after the meditation; it will help you get your blood flowing again. Even if you are not a morning person, try to get out of bed and go to the gym or walk your dog for a good 15-20 minutes. Fresh air in the morning helps start your body and your brain off. You’ll have a clear head and a lot more energy for the day ahead.

Your morning routine is almost as important as your bed routine so try not to skip this tips, especially the meditation one 🙂

4. EAT!

This has been one of the hardest things for me to do. I used to run myself into the ground; I would forget to eat, skip meals, or worse, I would grab fast food, – the kind of nasty, oily fast food. I can’t tell you how many entrepreneurs I’ve seen fall for this trap. Your body needs fuel! So, snack frequently, and eat healthy, the kind of food that will help you stay energized all day!

If you need help with food organization or cooking, there are tons of services like “freshly” or “blue apron” that will have all your meals delivered to your house. Pretty convenient, I know!

5. Disconnect from your work day.

Try to leave worries or troubles at the office. I know it’s hard to turn your brain off, and while you’re young and single this may not be so critical but it becomes crucial when you are in a relationship, or you have a family.
